The office was still recovering from the scent of Christmas cake when the new year came upon us. On the morning of 31st December 2021, the mighty Tech9ites pulled their comfortable blankets off them to get up and come to the office for the last time that year. While some were expecting another monotonous day, it quickly took a different turn.
A turn towards fun!
The management had planned out the perfect way to bid adieu to the tedious year and get everyone hyped and ready for the new year in front of us.
The office was clad in the majestic theme of black and gold (a shiny start to the celebrations right?). Tech9ites were dressed in their comfortable yet picture-perfect outfits. By the time the games were finalised, Tech9ites didn’t waste time—clicking beautiful pictures and spreading smiles across. The veterans made sure that 2021’s new additions weren’t left out!
Then it was unveiled. A cake as white as snow, with 2022 etched onto it. The proud seniors took the knife and approached it, claps echoed around the floor, yes, we were officially entering the new year, Tech9logy Style.
What followed was an amazing team-building game (with our favourite prop, balloons). Tech9ites were batched in a team of 5 with each of their legs tied up to another team member to form a TechChain! Oh, did we mention their hands were tied and they had balloons between their legs? The objective of the game was to move from one end of the aisle to the other. It was a fun-filled activity with balloons loose on the floor and the audience looking for support (lest they’d fall laughing). The team then gathered out front and re-enacted memorable quotes and scenes from famous movies. Some old, others new, regardless all of them were entertaining to the core. The celebrations ended with warm food at the end as we hugged and wished everyone the best.
Each one present had a great time. The activities and people around helped leave the sorrows of yesterday and prepare the hearts for the brand new year.
The year coming to an end was 2021. Covid yet again gave everyone some scares of the Oh so Dreadful lockdown!
But as every tunnel has a light at the end of it, we made sure to enter 2022 with hope in our hearts.
